Welcome to Dhamma Madrid. Besides supporting the Madrid Meditation Sangha led by Jim Forbes, this website attempts to centralize all the different sitting groups and Sanghas in the Madrid area in one web site, as well as provide other resources to support our practice. Interest in Buddhism, mindfulness and meditation seems to be growing in Madrid and Spain in general so we hope this web page is helpful to find a sitting group or Sangha that fits your needs.
For more information about our Meditation Sangha, or to RSVP to an event, visit our Meetup page, Madrid Meditation Meetup. If you have knowledge of other Meditation and Buddhist Sanghas or resources in Madrid that you would like included on our website, please e-mail us!
Jim has been meditating and practicing Buddhism for over 12 years after careers in accounting and real estate. He blends Buddhism with Nonviolent Communication, modern psychology, and extensive experience in those things that didn’t work. He considers his lineage to be the Theravada Thai Forest Tradition brought to the west by Jack Kornfield and Joseph Goldstein.
He comes from California and currently lives and teaches in Madrid, Spain.
He is the founder of Sala Dana, a meditation and yoga center in Madrid.
